The 2008 MLB playoff have certainly been exciting.  In the National League we saw Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies square off in the National League Championship Series (NLCS).  The Phillies led by the pitching of Cole Hammels and sluggers Ryan Howard and Chase Utley were able to defeat the Dodgers 4 game to 1.  Fans in Philadelphia are excited as the Phils are headed to the World Series for the first time since 1993.  In the American League, the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays have taken the American League Championship Series (ALCS) down the game 7.  The Rays had a commanding 3-1 series led but have let the Red Sox even things up with a World Series birth on the line.  The winner will meet the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series set to begin on October 22nd.  All baseball fans will be tuned in to see who will advance and who will go home and "wait til next year".
