The Tampa Bay Rays have established themselves as an up-and-coming organization in Major League Baseball. Founded in St. Petersburg, their fans have always had a love for baseball. Since 1922, the town has been an eminent spring training host. Seventy-six years later, fans were given their own Major League Baseball team to cheer on during the Regular Season.  Although the Rays have been known for their recent losing habits, they have made some bright acquisitions during the off-season. Matt Garza and Troy Percival will improve their pitching staff, while homegrown slugger, Evan Longoria, claims third-base. For the first time, the Rays may be solid competitors against the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox.  The Rays have started construction on their new stadium, but I would still urge fans to visit Tropicana Field. The 21-year old stadium features a rare FieldTurf surface and dome, as well as a unique slanted roof. You do not need to be an ardent baseball supporter to enjoy watching the Rays' live in action.
